Lou Reed heirs inherit large estate

 

He preferred to live outside the artistic mainstream but judging from the size of the estate the late musician left behind, Lou Reed's musical and artistic enterprises generated a lot of money and the value of his work appreciated considerably following his death. His $30 million estate will be mostly divided between the three closest women in his life, his wife, sister and mother.  Singer Laurie Anderson, Reed's wife, will receive the couples Greenwich Village apartment and their property in the Hamptons The real estate's a combined value is $8.5 million. She will also be awarded cars, boats, clothing, jewelery and Sister Ray Enterprises, Reed's company.  His mother will be well cared for by his sister, who Reed's original will allocated $500,000 ofr that purpose.  That figure has now multiplied 10x based on the increased value of the estate since Reed died.
