A UK High Court has upheld the right of Michelle Morrison, wife of singer Van Morrison, to seek a legal remedy to what she claims is the failure of the council to take measures that protected her family's right to privacy when it approved an application for a neighbor's house plans. The filing by Morrison contends that the landscape plans of the neighbor will significantly open the Morrison property to view.  A justice involved in review of the claim said adequate grounds were provided in the complaint to warrant court review proceedings against the council and to name the neighbors as notice parties.  The judge also said that the case will likely end up costing someone 'an awful lot of money'.
