Hendrix Goes 3D in Vegas

Sony used its new alliance with the Jimi Hendrix estate to create a jaw dropping demonstration of the electronic giant's new 3D TV display technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  CEO Howard Stringer announced the distribution partnership with Experience Hendrix Wednesday (1/6), and then used 3D enhanced footage of Hendrix performing at the 1969 Woodstock festival to demonstrate the 'monolithic design' series of Sony Bravia Televisions due to hit the marketplace in March.  Plans are also underway to upgrade the company's PlayStation consoles for 3D.  3D displays, tablet style PC panels and the rapidly expanding capabilities of  smartphones using new operating systems have created the most buzz at the annual gathering of tech fanatics in the desert.
