U2 pays to play Montreal?

U2 will reportedly pump between $2 and $3 million into a facility in Montreal so it can host the band's 360 tour on July 16.  The band will apparently underwrite the cost of building a temporary stadium big enough to hold 60,000 - 80,000 on the grounds of the Montreal Hippodrome.  Making the story even more remarkable, both the temporary facility and the Hippodrome itself are scheduled to be demolished right after the event so the site can be prepared for a real estate development.  Olympic Stadium, largely unused since the Expos abandoned it to move to Washington, DC, was apparently rejected because the band wants to play open air concerts.  It will be the first show by U2 in Montreal since 2005
