Stairway To Heaven rip-off claim (listen)

The lawyer for the family of Randy California, the late Spirit guitarist, is seeking to block a reissue of Led Zeppelin IV unless the album includes a writing credit for California on Stairway To Heaven.  The attorney contends that the epic song morphed from the 1968 Spirit song Taurus.  The two bands performed on the same bill at four concerts during the last two years of the 60's.  A report by Bloomberg Businessweek indicates that Taurus was played by Spirit at those concerts and that Zeppelin even included the Spirit song Fresh Garbage from the same Spirit  lp that Taurus was on in a medley it did live.  Listen and see whether you agree Stairway was lifted from the '68 instrumental California wrote.
