Last spring, Steven Tyler and Nuno Bettencourt recorded a cover of Brown Sugar at FAME Studios near Muscle Shoals Alabama that reportedly featured some of the singers and musicians that played on the original when the Stones recorded it there.
The local group Dysfuntion was getting New Orleans warmed up for the annual influx of Jazz Festival fans when one of the annual festival's best known Rockers jumped on stage with them on Bourbon Street. Dysfunction member Adam Haines told WWLTV that it's not unusual for fans to get excited enough to jump on stage with them during certain songs, but having Steven Tyler do it when his band broke into Walk This Way took everyone by surprise Thursday night (5/3).
Sustaining a musical career in two different genres can be like trying to get a dog into a boat; its front paws are in the boat, its back paws are on the dock, and the distance between the boat and the dock expands until the dog falls into the lake. If any Rocker can manage to be the dog and not end up in the drink, it could be Steven Tyler. The Aerosmith frontman wants to Rock with his band of decades and to prove himself as a Country act. A lot of his contemporaries seem to think he can pull both off.

Joe Perry was back in the lineup with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp when the Hollywood Vampires hit the stage at the Green Music Center in Rohnert Park, California on Friday (7/22). Perry, who had been out of action since an on-stage collapes attributed to exhaustion and dehydration on July 10, is expected to remain with the group for the duration of its tour and then rejoin Aerosmith for South American dates.
