Eric Clapton has spearheaded and produced an album project that will pay tribute to JJ Cale, writer of EC solo hits Cocaine and After Midnight, as well as several other tracks Clapton has recorded during his career. While he hopes his fans and those of the other high-profile musicians participating in the project enjoy their interpretations of JJ's songs, EC says the real intent is to draw attention to the source: 'I would like people to tap into JJ Cale did - that's the point. I'm just the messenger.' Here is the track list for the July 29 release. Clapton and Cale jointly issued the album Road to Escondido in 2006. Cale passed away in July, 2013.
