Paul McCartney will have the honor of closing down a venue that hosted the last formal Beatles concert during the group's relatively brief run of major concerts.  On August 29th, 1966, the Beatles played to a less than full house at Candlestick Park, at that time the home stadium of the Giants and 49ers south of San Francisco.  Paul will hope for a warmer, dryer night on August 14 than the one that kept the crowd on his first visit well below capacity at the notoriously uncomfortable park that is sechedule for demoition later this year. McCartney will also play Dodger Stadium during his run of US dates. His August 10th concert there will mark his only performance in that stadium since the night before the Candlestick concert.
