In an amusing instance of making the best of a bad situation, Neil Young revealed during a talk at SWSX in Austin, Texas that he shingled the roof of his barn with thousands of defective copies of his 1978 album Comes A Time. Young told those gathered that the recording intended for the album pressing had apparently been damaged in transit, a discovery not made until thousands of copies of the album had been pressed. Not satisfied with the quality, Neil pulled them and later decided to use them as shingles on a barn on his property.
