Neil Young's Kickstarter campaign to raise backing bucks for his Pono music player (story) rocketed past its $800,000 goal in just 10 hours Tuesday (3/11), no doubt helped by the slick video (with, ironically, poor audio) featuring testimonials from Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and many others plus perks for people forking over big bucks that included a dinner with Young and invites to a listening party he will stage. By Wednesday, the campaign had topped $1.5 million. Donors will receive a price break on the $400 triangular player when it becomes available.
