Before becoming one of the biggest acts in Rock, Van Halen was playing almost anyplace it could in SoCal, including an April, 1975 set at Pasadena High School, where the group did a covers heavy set that included songs by Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Edgar Winter and the James Gang. Fortunately, whoever did the sound that night also recorded a board tape.
