Duane Allman made far too early an exit, but during his relatively short time making music professionally the guitar great from the Allman Brothers Band managed to record sessions with Derek & The Dominos, Aretha Franklin, Delaney & Bonnie, Boz Scaggs, Laura Nyro, Wilson Pickett, King Curtis, Ronnie Hawkins and many, many others.  A compilation culled by Duane's daughter, Glaldrielle, pulls together highlights of those guest sessions, many of her father's best recordings with his own band and a sampling of some of the pre and side Allman Brothers Band projects he took part in, including The Escorts, Allman Joys and Hour Glass.  SkyDog: The Duane Allman Retrospective, a 7 disc collection, is due March 5 on Rounder.  Scott Schinder, producer of  project's extensive liner notes, says, '...Duane Allman remains a towering figure whose stature has only increased in his absence.
