Freddie Mercury's Rolls Sparks Bidding

The 1974 Roll Royce that Freddie Mercury owned from 1979 until his death in 1991 brought a top bid just under $120,000 at an auction in Birmingham, UK Sunday (1/13).  A Russian bidding by phone claimed ownership of the car for a price apparently 7x higher than auctioneers had expected it to bring.  While 39 year-old Rolls falls well short  of a modern luxury car, it seems surprising that the auction house was caught off guard by the added value a previous owner like Freddie Mercury would add to the vehicle.  If the new owner feels any buyer's remorse, he can make use of the box of Kleenex Tissues that is purported to have been in the Rolls since Freddie was last onboard.
