Beatles Reject Demo to Auction

The original 1962 demo recording the Beatles submitted to Decca Records in hopes of getting signed by the label is going to auction.  The 10 track recording Brian Epstein financed and presented to Decca not only failed to  impress the label enough to offer a contract, it even reportedly provoked one Decca executive to say the group had '...no future in show business'.  Shortly after being dismissed by Decca, EMI Records would secure the rights to Beatles recordings with what would turn out to be one of the most lucrative signings in music history.  The recording is expected to bring a top bid Tuesday (11/27) in the neighborhood of $50,000 - but could fetch more.
