UCLA setting up Chris Cornell Scholorship

In addition to his passsion for music, Chris Cornell had deep feelings about justice and human rights. The widow of the late Soundgarden leader has established an endowment of more than $1 million to provide scholarships to assist students attending UCLA Law.  In announcing the initiative Vicky Cornell said, "My husband and I agreed that given the opportunity of education, people have the power to change the world."  The program at the University will be under The Promise Institute, which gets its name from the title of the song Cornell wrote for The Promise,  the 2017 film that documents the 1915 Armenian genocide that killed approximately 1.5 million in what is now Turkey and was then part of the Ottoman Empire.
