Growing up in a musical family is great. Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen had it even better. Not only were both his parents musical, the family also owned a music store. Starting with drums, young Rick dabbled with multiple instruments and eventually was won over by guitars and keyboards. After a short stint as Todd Rundgren's replacement in Nazz, Nielsen formed a band with Tom Petersson that later recruited Bun E. Carlos as its drummer that morphed into Cheap Trick. Robin Zander came on board in 1974.
