Dylan Honored at White House

Bob Dylan overcame his aversion to awards events to allow President Obama to personally place a Medal of Freedom around his neck during a White House ceremony Tuesday (5/29).  The Folk Rock icon joined NASA space pioneer John Glenn, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, writer Toni Morrison, Israeli President Shimon Perez, past Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and the National Farm Workers Association's Dolores Huerta in receiving the nations highest civilian honor.  During his remarks about Dylan, Obama spoke not only about the impact the prolific musician has had on society, culture and politics during his remarkable career, but also about the profound influence his songs had on him personally.
