Fans Invited To Levon Helm's Place

Woodstock, NY showed its admiration and respect to Levon Helm by flying village flags at half staff this week in marking the passing of the late drummer who died of throat cancer April 19 (story).  Thursday (4/26), residents and fans are invited to pay their personal respects to the man from a small town in Arkansas that made the small Hudson Valley town his home for most of his 71 years.  The studio where Helm recorded and hosted his Midnight Rambles will be open for visitors between 10am and 3pm.  Due to limited access to parking at the secluded studio, shuttle service is being provided from the Woodstock Playhouse and Andy Lee Field.
Levon will be buried in a plot beside the resting place of Rick Danko, bass player of the Band, in the Woodstock Cemetery.
