Heartbreakers Guitars Safe & Sound

As predicted (story), it did not take long to crack the case of the break-in that resulted in the theft of five guitars belonging to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The instruments were discovered missing from a Culver City, CA rehearsal hall Thursday (4/12).  Included in the lot were Petty's 1967 Blonde Rickenbacker, and Gibson SG TV Jr.,, A Fender Boradcaster belonging to Ron Blair, Scott Thurston's 1967 Epiphone and a custom built Dusenberg belonging to Mike Campbell.  The band offered a $7500 no-questions-asked reward for info leading to the return of the instruments.  Culver City police announced an arrest in the case and the recovery of the guitars on Tuesday (4/17).  The culprit was reportedly a security guard.
