Following a few preview performances, the official opening night for Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, the John Mellencamp, Stephen King musical, takes place Wednesday (4/11) at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. It has taken the better part of a decade for the 19 song production to come to life on stage. The music is true to Mellencamp's style - no overblown orchestra or synthesized hijynx, just uncluttered songs and interludes involving harmonica, slide guitar, accordion and drums, lyrics that ring true and a cast that the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports does the tunes justice.
