Marshall Amp Designer Dead

The man responsible for designing the brawny amp favored by generations of Rockers has died.  The amplifiers that bore Jim Marshall's last name in bold letters on their grill featured a separate amp unit atop the speaker cabinets, allowing for them to be stacked atop one another, leading many hard Rocking bands to assemble veritable walls of amps and earning Marshall the nickname the Father Of Loud.  Critics suspected that some even added empty cabinets to their array to one-up other groups.  Rockers including Joe Bonamassa and Slash took to their Twitter accounts to praise Marshall for his contribution to music.  The company's web site also noted that Marshall was '...also an incredibly humble and generous man who, over the past several decades, has quietly donated many millions of pounds to worth causes.'  We wonder whether some of that went to organizations involved in hearing loss prevention and recovery.
