Spider-Man Draw Defies Critics

Despite a series of catastrophic complications, multiple delays, enormous cost over runs and less than enthusiastic reviews from critics (story), Spider-Man, Turn Of The Dark has turned into a Broadway sensation.  The show will still need a long run to actually turn a profit but if current ticket demand is any indication, the production should have no problem finishing in the black.
The most recent milestone for the musical was shattering the record weekly draw of $2,228,235 set by Wicked last January.  During its final 9 performances of 2011, Spider-Man raked in $2,941.790.
Bono and The Edge of U2 are elated that the production the pair provided most of the music for has overcome all of the obstacles. The Edge says, 'It goes to show that you can't keep a good superhero down. This is a proud day for everyone who has been a part of this show', and added, 'The Broadway public have voted with their feet.'
