McCartney Standards Album In February

Paul McCartney has announced plans to release an album of American standards the former Beatle says had an influence on the material he wrote with John Lennon.  The as yet untitled release will also include contributions form Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder and Diana Krall.  Two original tunes will also be included on the project.  McCartney says the time is right to give recognition to some of the songs and song writers that he '...took a lot of my lessons from.'  He says the process of arranging and recording the material reminded him of how the Beatles approached recording, calling it, '...very spontaneous, kind of organic'.  The release is expected to be out on February 6 - just in time for Valentines Day.
