The Isle of Wight festival landed another major American act this week when Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers confirmed plans to fill the headline role for the Friday night of the June event.  Petty and company join Bruce Springsteen at the three day event staged at Seaclose Park June 22-24. Bruce and the E Street Band have the festival closing slot on Sunday.  Promoter John Giddings says he has tried to get Petty into the lineup of the venerable festival for a long time. Like Tom says, the waiting is the hardest part. Giddings says he's '...sure it will be worth the wait.'
