The only claims about Jimi Hendrix related projects that usually prove reliable enough to bank on are ones that come from the inner circle of the Hendrix estate or Sony.  Captain America actress Hayley Atwell recently said that a long rumored Hendrix biopic is moving toward production with rapper Andre 3000 of the group Outkast in the title role.  His possible casting as the guitar great has been talked about for the better part of a decade.  Whether this report has any more to it than the earlier ones remains to be seen... or not.
