Springsteen's First Car Available

The 1957 Chevy Bruce Springsteen bought in the spring of 1975 for $2k is up for auction with a minimum bid close to $400,000.  The yellow convertible with flames on the hood is said to be the the one Bruce wrote about in Racing In The Street.  It comes with the original registration and a temporary insurance card naming Bruce as the policy holder.  Gone is the dual, four barrel carb engine with 396 Fuelie heads. The power plant was replaced with a single barrel custom built 350 during a $35,000 mechanical upgrade.  The rest of the car remains as it was when Bruce owned it.  Later that year, Bruce bought himself a 1960 Corvette with money earned from the breakout success of the Born To Run album.  It is believed to be the first vehicle owned by Springsteen to go up for bids.
