The Promise, the documentary about the making of Darkness On The Edge Of Town that was packaged with the deluxe edition of the re-release of the landmark album, is headed for a stand-alone release.  The award winning doc comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray May 2.  The 90 minute film that was shot during rehearsal and recording sessions for the 1978 album will be supplemented by five songs that Bruce and the E Street Band played late last year during an exclusive invitation only gig in Asbury Park, NJ (story) and a Q&A session Springsteen did with fans while making appearances to talk-up the film and deluxe edition re-release of Darkness.
