In 1965, John Lennon celebrated passing his driver's test is style. The Beatle got himself a sky blue Ferrari 2+2 coupe. John later that year decided to get something more substantial, upgrading to a Rolls Royce Phantom, a car he had refinished in a custom, psychedelic paint job.
The Ferrari goes on the auction block Feb. 5 in a Paris sale being conducted by Bonhams. Count on it bringing a tad more than the last car Lennon owned, a beater station wagon he and Yoko used to tool around New York in without drawing attention to themselves. That car sold recently for just a bit over 5k (story). Bidding on the Ferrari is expected to top out somewhere between $180 and $250 thousand.
