Early Hendrix Axe On Block

The Fender Duo-Sonic guitar Jimi Hendrix used while performing under the name Jimmy James with the Isley Brothers and others in 1964 is set to be auctioned November 2.  The instrument, which could be had for around $150 back in the day, is expected to fetch an amount upwards of 100x that amount when Lot 429 becomes the center of attention during the Cameo Auctioneers event in the UK.  The guitar was once rumored to have been lost or during a US tour, but was reportedly found in the studio of Animals bass player and one-time Hendrix manager Chas Chandler, who sold it in 1982 to a another member of the Animals for around $500.  Also up for bids that date will be a 1967 Hendrix hand colored drawing and rare photos of the Beatles.
