Graham Nash Honored By Queen

The fact Graham Nash has lived in Hawaii for most of the last 30 years did not sink his fate in the eyes of those on the isle he started his career in.  Nash was honored Wednesday (10/13) in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen was on-hand as the former Hollies and still Crosby, Stills & Nash member was awarded the OBE.  Nash called the occasion 'very profound', and called receiving the honor a highlight of his life.  Although Nash became a US citizen 32 years ago, he still considers himself English at his core, telling those attending the event, 'This is my country and my Queen gave me an honor - it's a stunning experience.'  No slouch when it comes to winning favor with his Queen, Nash told her majesty how beautiful she looked as the two chatted about his days with the Hollies.  He expressed his surprise that his country would bestow the honor on someone who had moved to the US nearly four decades ago, telling the Queen he '...didn't think anybody was watching', to which she replied, '...now you know.'
