Iron Maiden's Dickinson hits the road for charity

Bruce Dickinson pilots Iron Maiden's custom 747 on tour, but he will soon be at the contols of a much more modest machine. Dickinson will participate in a road rally originating in Surrey in the UK and finishing in Cannes on the French Riviera 832 miles later.  All of the vehicles in the challenge must be worth 500 British pounds or less (about $650), use only secondary roads and no GPS navigation is permitted in cars on the Dash To The Med. Proceeds from the road rally will go to the Children's Trust, Variety children's charity and the East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services.
