Springsteen UK Concert DVD

Used to playing arenas and stadiums filled with devoted fans, Bruce was not certain what kind of a reception to expect when playing for 100,000+ fans that did not necessarily buy tickets to see the E Street Band.  The Working On A Dream tour gave him the chance to find out.  Rising to the challenge, Bruce and the band delivered tour-de-force sets at Bonnaroo and Glastonbury.  The Hard Rock Calling concert in London's Hyde Park proved to be one of the defining concerts of the two year tour.  The set started in bright daylight and ended well after dark, and well after even those who questioned whether the band belonged in the lineup were glad they were.  For most, it was a done deal from the opening barrage of set opener London Calling, the Clash anthem. The Hard Rock Calling performance yielded riveting versions of songs included in most set lists during the tour and great takes on some rare gems, including Good Lovin' from the Rascals.  A DVD containing 26 songs from that concert plus the version of The River done at Glastonbury and Wrecking Ball, the tribute to Giants Stadium recorded at the Meadowlands venue a few months before it was demolished, comes out June 22.
