Aerosmith & Geils Sell Out Fast

With the regular residents of Fenway Park off to their worst start in decades, the multi-year streak of sold out home games for the Boston Red Sox could be history by August.  But on an August night the the Sox take the field against the Rangers in Texas, Fenway will be be packed to the rafters with fans of other hometown favorites.  Tickets for the J. Geils Band and Aerosmith concert at Fenway August 14 (story) went on sale Saturday (4/17).  By mid day Sunday they were gone.  The appearance below the Green Monster will be the first time the two legendary Boston bands have shared the stage in their long histories.  Peter Wolf, lead singer with the Geils Band, was a DJ on another long time Boston institution, WBCN.  A building next door to Fenway that was once home to the pioneering album Rock station has been converted into a Red Sox themed restaurant and sports bar by Sox TV announcer and popular second baseman Jerry Remy.
