Record Store Day was cooked up to draw attention to the fact that some independent brick and mortar record stores have managed to survive the tsunamis of WalMart, Napster and the subsequent waves of legal music downloads that drove a stake through the heart of all but the most stubborn or unique stores.  Several artists are stepping up to offer special songs for sale on April 17, including the Rolling Stones, who plan to put Plundered My Soul, a song recorded during the Exile On Main Street sessions, out as a 7" single.  The flip side (when's the last time you saw that term in print) will be a remixed version of All Down The Line from the landmark album the band recorded in 1971.
