The Chinese government, already irate unfair trade practices allegations from Washington and claims Google has leveled against it for internet privacy violations targeting dissenters, has reportedly refused to grant clearance for Bob Dylan to appear in the country.  A representative of a Taiwan company involved with the planned Dylan tour of Asian countries said the Ministry of Culture in China refused to clear the dates planned for Beijing and Shanghai.  While a specific reason was not given, concerns Dylan would encourage political activists is assumed by most to be behind the decision, one that caused promoters to cancel the entire Asian leg of the tour.
