Much More Hendrix Coming

40 years after his death, Jimi Hendrix remains a commanding presence.  Valleys of Neptune, a collection of high quality studio recordings put out earlier this month (story), is outselling releases by a lot of contemporary artists. Based on the number of posthumous Hendrix releases, it is apparent a recorder was nearly always on when Jimi picked up a guitar.  Janie Hendrix, the family member that directly oversees the selection and production of material from the Hendrix archives, reveals that even more material has come to light than the estate was aware existed.  She tells the UK's Daily Record of the discovery of '...a huge vault of unreleased tapes - audio and video - from floor to ceiling.'  By her estimate it contains a decade worth of recordings that have never been heard.
