Whether it was the expectation he would perform with Genesis or the idea of being inducted with ABBA that kept Peter Gabriel from attending the Rock Hall Of Fame ceremony Monday (3/15) in New York is unclear.  What is clear is that a quick trip across the pond would have been easy to arrange had he wanted to be at the Waldorf Astoria.  Fans that waited for the long overdue induction of Genesis ended up with Watcher Of The Skies and No Reply At All done by... Phish.  The Hall loses more credibility and the induction ceremony becomes more of a charade every year.  There were some good moments, but the highlights of the evening were Iggy Pop giving the finger to the whole affair and Anni-Frid Lyngstad delivering the guarantee that ABBA will never perform together again.
