A bid to have the statue of Jimi Hendrix moved from Capitol Hill in Seattle to the park named in his honor has been derailed. A proposal by a group lobbying to expand and improve the park in the neighborhood the legendary guitarist was raised in (story) to relocate the statue from the space it occupies at Broadway and Pine had been facing mounting objections. The decision was reached after the Hendrix estate consulted with the owner of the statue, which depicts Hendrix leaning back on his knees wailing on his famously inverted Fender Strat.
