Steve Miller surprised the nearly 10 thousand on hand at a benefit concert for the Cal State Fullerton Scholarship Program Saturday night (2/20) by announcing he was kicking in $25 grand himself. Three songs into the Steve Miller Band set, the guitarist told the crowd, 'If you can do it, so can I.'  His announcement brought a roar - and surprised even Cal State President Milton Gordon, who said Miller was the first headline act in the event's 15 year history not to take the money and run.  Not only did Miller donate his performance fee back to the program, he told Gordon 'If you need me to come back and help out, let me know'.
