When your net worth is said to be over a billion dollars, spending a few tens of millions to preserve one of your favorite places is hardly a stretch.  Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber may be weighing the idea of buying Abbey Road Studios.  The London landmark is where Lloyd Webber recorded most of his orchestral works.  Pressure is also being applied to the National Trust to intervene in preventing EMI from selling the property to someone that would not maintain the 3 studios in the historic North London building. A former studio employee has launched a Facebook campaign to rally support to save the studio, which he points out was the 'birthplace' of so many great recordings. (story)
