It was during a performance at the Buffalo Chip that Steven Tyler gyrated off the stage, making a hard landing that injured his head and shoulder, ending the show, the tour and, still possibly, his future wth the band. (story) It also created havoc for ZZ Top. The Texas trio was supposed to spend the summer co-headlining with Aerosmith. Sturgis organizers have invited the Top to headline this summer's rally. Dave Mason opens the nine day party at the Buffalo Chip with a show Aug. 6. ZZ Top takes over the venue Aug. 9, and the Doobie Brothers make their way back to the event for the first time in 20 years with a concert on Aug. 14.
