Apparently inspired by the rendition of Bridge Over Toubled Water she did at the Grammy Awards, Mary J. Blige intends to do a remake of Stairway To Heaven.  Covering the Simon & Garfunkel classic in the context of raising money for Haiti earthquake relief was a fine and fitting thing to do.  Messing with Stairway To Heaven is another matter entirely.  The music world needs this like a fish needs a bicycle.  More disappointing than the report the pop star plans to record the song is word that Steve Vai may have signed on to play guitar on it. Steve, say it ain't so!
