Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood, who one UK tabloid reported had checked himself into a clinic that treats alcohol abuse on Friday (1/29), may have just gone to the clinic as a necessary step in getting pills to help him reduce his alcohol intake on his own.  Wood, who has a number of rehab stints under his belt, has been the subject of numerous stories in recent months that involved reports he was intoxicated.  His increasingly combative relationship with Ekaterina Ivanova ended in what witnesses said was a drunken altercation between the two (story). That was followed by a string of other sightings involving Wood, young women and heavy drinking.  The guitarist has been under mounting pressure from family and friends, including band mates, to deal with his drinking.
