On the weekend a global telethon raised around $60 million to help quake victims in Haiti, Bay State musicians got busy for that cause and another at both ends of the state. James Taylor did a fund raising concert in the Berkshire Mountain community of Great Barrington, MA that netted a half a million dollars for the Haiti relief effort. The Convention Center in Boston rocked Saturday night (1/24). Joey Kramer of Aerosmith emceed a party that featured what Peter Wolf has said could be the last reunion of the J. Geils Band. The event, which raised around $2 million for Big Brothers & Big Sisters, included an auction of a Kramer drum set Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck had previously bought from the Aeosmith drummer. The skins brought $30k at the event.
