Bay Area Tribute to Harmonica Great

Norton Buffalo was tremendously talented and very unassuming, a combination that earned him the admiration and friendship of a lot of great musicians and music fans in the Bay Area.  News that cancer had taken the great harp player in October set plans in motion for a tribute concert to raise money for the family of the man who had always been so generous with his time and talent. Friday night (1/22) a number of artists Buffalo enjoyed and performed with, including Steve Miller, the Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Elvin Bishop and George Thorogood performed to honor their friend at what Raitt proclaimed 'Buff-a-palooza'.  Steve Miller, who Buffalo recorded and toured with for 33 years, had the full house in Oakland's Fox Theatre bellowing every chorus in tribute to the man who was absent but also powerfully present.
