Conan O'Brien joined unannounced guests Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Ben Harper on Will Ferrell's send-up of Free Bird to end Conan's seven month run hosting the Tonight Show.  Neil Young, who earlier in the show did a solo acoustic version of Long May You Run, made an early exit to appear on the Hope For Haiti telethon for a duet with Dave Matthews.  O'Brien and his guests pummeled NBC all week for the network's decision to oust him as host so Jay Leno could return to it.  Tom Hanks and Conan got some good jabs in during the final show too before O'Brien expressed his sincere appreciation to the network for all of the opportunities it had given him during their long association, but he left little doubt that he intends to launch a new show.
