Planners behind the Show of Peace, a massive concert marking the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing, held a press conference in the city Wednesday (1/13). Promoters confirmed their plan to make the April 17 concert free, relying on sponsorships, merchandise sales and broadcast rights to cover all expenses.  Jimmy Page, one of the first to agree to play the concert (story), has been actively involved in promoting the event. Dozens of A-List artists are identified as 'targeted' to appear on the event web site, including Aerosmith. AeroForceOne.com confirms that Joe Perry plans to play the concert, but says Aerosmith will not.
