Allman Brothers Move Uptown

The Allman Brothers Band has booked an extended stay in New York City since 1989. 2010 is no exception, but a scheduling conflict at the Beacon Theater is forcing the party to move uptown.  The ABB has reserved the United Palace Theater, a 3200 seat venue at 175th & Broadway, for eight shows starting on March 11.  Last year's run of 15 dates at the smaller Beacon featured dozens of guests, including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Bob Weir & Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead and a two night appearance by Eric Clapton.  Tickets for the run of dates go on sale Jan. 15.
