Advance sale tickets for the 2010 edition of the Glastonbury Festival sold out in just a few hours several weeks ago despite the fact not a single act had been confirmed (story). Now, a very big one has been inked. U2 will do it's only British Isles appearance opening night of the festival - June 25.  The announcement is the realization of a years long quest for Glastonbury organizer Michael Evans, who triumphantly announced the commitment as a big step in helping him fulfill his promise of a killer lineup for next summer's event.  It will mark the first major festival appearance by the Irish Rockers in more than 20 years.  The 2009 event was a great success, thanks in part to rare festival appearances by Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.
