Fans attending the Jackson Browne concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida came with the hope of hearing any number of songs, but Free Bird was only on the mind of the one fan who shouted the title of the Lynyrd Skynyrd anthem in jest after Browne invited requests. To his and everyone else's surprise, Browne went right into it, his guitar tech joining him on slide. He also worked in a version of Lawyers, Guns & Money by his late friend Warren Zevon, whose debut album Browne produced. Browne took a pass on a joker's call from the crowd of around 2,200 for Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers.
